My first love was Julie Newmar as Catwoman!
Fun stuff, Scott! keep it comin'! I love bio comics, especially when I actually know the cartoonist who's doing them!
Julie looked like she was actually drawn by Al Capp, wasn't she?
Y'know, when I was a hippie (well, hippie-ish), I didn't like the then-current content in LI'L ABNER, and the man may have been a complete scumbag, but I've always thought that he was one helluva cartoonist/writer -- no matter HOW many assistants he had! He was loud and outrageous and a real character, qualities I still aspire to...
Fun, Scott--good drawing, good story with a twist. My "first" was Annette Funicello in "Spin and Marty". Shari Lewis, ooh-la-la--we should start a support group for us smitten kids!
Shari was the first in a string of cute, smart, talented Jewish girls I had crushes on up through college and beyond...Too bad there were no cute, smart, talented Jewish girls with crushes on chubby cartoonists...
Thanks, everyone, for your kind remarks. They are truly appreciated!
And thanks especially to Joe Infurnari and Dino! Haspiel for making it possible and to Jason Robert Bell (AKA Caveman Robot) for inspiring me in the first place!
NONE of it is "pathetic"; it's young human weirdness, very innocent. (Okay, maybe NOT so innocent, HA!) Very real, very sweet, very FAMILIAR! I had crushes on John Wayne (egad!) and "Hoss" and "Adam" on Bonanza. So THERE. ;-)
(LOVED the coonskin cap; always wanted one!)
